LIR Service

Misaka.io provides LIR services to help you manage your IP address space and ASN resources. We are registered members of both RIPE NCC and APNIC, offering comprehensive IP address and ASN management services.

Our Mission

This service is not built to generate profit, and it never will be. We want to make networking as open and accessible as possible for everyone, from hobbyists to small businesses and educational institutions.

Therefore, this service is provided on a best-effort basis. We will try to provide responses within a reasonable timeframe but there isn't any SLA bound to it.

RIPE LIR Services

Misaka.io has been a member of the RIPE NCC since 2017. The RIPE NCC is the organization responsible for distributing IP addresses and ASNs in Europe. As a LIR, we offer various services:

Available Resources

Payment Notes:

• For RIPE resources, the initial annual maintenance fee is included in the application fee
• RIPE application fees can only be paid in USD
• Maintenance fees can be paid in EUR when available
• When paying in EUR, only SEPA and Wise payment methods are available. Credit card and other payment methods are not available for EUR payments

ASN Registration Requirements

IMPORTANT regarding AS-Number registration:

• We require a copy of your passport and/or company certificate, two upstream providers with AS-Number, and the email address you plan to use for the RIPE NCC
• Documents such as company certificate or certificate of good standing cannot be older than 3 months
• Upstream providers MUST be in the RIPE NCC service region and CANNOT be hourly-billing cloud providers
• If you are outside the region, you will need to provide invoices from your upstream providers within the region
• ASNs issued are 4-Byte ASNs

• We may require a justification for allocations larger than /48

APNIC LIR Services

Misaka.io is a member of APNIC, the organization responsible for distributing IP addresses and ASNs in Asia. As a LIR, we offer various services:

Payment Notes:

• Payment is due within 30 days of invoice date
• The application fee is not refundable unless agreed by the LIR

ASN Registration Requirements

• We require a copy of your ID or company certificate, two upstream providers with AS-Number, an email address, and an IP prefix you plan to use
• IPv6 registration: We require a justification for allocations larger than /48, and you must be a connectivity customer of Misaka.io

Process

The following process applies to all LIR service requests:

Payment Terms

All fees are for a full calendar year regardless of when the Agreement enters into effect.

Payment is due within 30 days of invoice date. From the day on which payment obligations are defaulted, the statutory rate of interest will apply to unpaid amounts. In addition, extra-judicial collection costs may apply.

Resource Usage

For PA resources, your usage is also subject to prohibited usage as outlined in our Terms of Service.

Glossary

APNIC

Asia-Pacific Network Information Centre. The Regional Internet Registry for the Asia Pacific region, responsible for distributing IP addresses and ASNs in Asia.

ASN

Autonomous System Number. A unique identifier assigned to an autonomous system for use in BGP routing.

LIR

Local Internet Registry. An organization that has been allocated Internet number resources by a Regional Internet Registry and is assigned further address space to distribute to its customers.

PA

Provider Aggregatable. IP address space that is tied to a specific Internet service provider and is typically returned when the customer changes providers.

PI

Provider Independent. IP address space that is not tied to a specific Internet service provider and can be used with any provider.

RIPE NCC

Réseaux IP Européens Network Coordination Centre. The Regional Internet Registry for Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Central Asia, responsible for distributing IP addresses and ASNs in its service region.
